MA/MS in Mathematics

The mathematics department offers graduate degrees with a mathematics major. This record covers the master's level, which includes a research-oriented degree and the Master of Arts or Master of Science in Teaching. An accelerated bachelor's and master's route lets strong undergraduates count a limited number of approved graduate mathematics courses toward both degrees. The undergraduate coordinator handles admission to this plan. Concentrated study is possible in both pure and applied areas, including pure subjects like algebra and topology, along with applied topics such as dynamical systems, optimization, probability, biomathematics and imaging. Degree requirements follow the university's graduate degrees section, and applicants should consult the department for current application details. Prospective students can check the catalog entry and the department for current course offerings and contacts.
