MA/MS in Public Administration

A professional Master of Public Administration comes from the public policy, management, and analytics department within UIC's urban planning and public affairs college. The national association of schools in the field accredits it. Its purpose is to prepare people entering public service, and those already working in it, for careers in government and the nonprofit sector. A joint option pairing law with public administration is also listed. Coursework includes foundations of public service, which looks at the legal, economic, and social context of public organizations along with ethics, plus data management and analysis and economics for management and policy. The department awards a doctorate in the field as well. Applicants should read its requirements to plan for the courses and electives involved.
