PhD in Civil Engineering

The PhD in Civil Engineering welcomes applicants who hold a master's or bachelor's degree in civil engineering, as well as those with other backgrounds who are willing to take some undergraduate preparatory coursework. The doctorate marks command of the field and demonstrated ability to conduct independent research. Candidates need a final cumulative graduate grade point average of at least 3.00 over all coursework attempted. Prospective students are encouraged to speak with the graduate director for civil engineering before applying.
