Architecture at Oregon is an accredited, five-year professional degree, the Bachelor of Architecture. It focuses on shaping buildings and environments that support sustainability, community life and human experience. Students start on the Eugene campus and may continue advanced study at the White Stag Block in Portland.
Early foundational studios lead into specialized seminars on passive house topics, urbanism with an inclusive lens and minimal dwellings. Theory, technical skills and studio practice are woven together, and facilities include a design library, workshops for building models, computer labs and a materials center.
Overseas study is possible in several places, including Italy, Spain, Canada and parts of Europe and East Asia. Alumni become licensed architects, urban designers and sustainability consultants, and some have founded firms or led humanitarian design projects.
