Students in the Biological Sciences program at the University of the Pacific can direct their coursework toward the areas that matter most to them, whether that is cell and molecular work, plant life, microbes, or the function of living bodies. Some graduates move into biotechnology, teaching, or sales, while others continue toward medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing, or physical therapy training.
Hands-on research is central to the experience. Undergraduates join faculty on projects spanning many kinds of living systems, and small upper-division classes, modern laboratories, and advanced equipment make that work possible. Faculty advisers also coordinate with pharmacy and dentistry admissions teams, so students can plan a smooth route from pre-professional study into advanced training.
Because the department is small, undergraduates gain direct access to instructors and to research settings that often are reserved for graduate students at larger schools.
