BA/BS in Botany/Plant Biology

The bachelor of science in botany serves students interested in plants and related fields. The page encourages a bachelor's degree at minimum and notes that further study after graduation can help in a competitive job market. Graduates may enter careers directly or continue to graduate programs, or to professional schools such as medicine and pharmacy. Students begin with the college biology course and need adviser approval to join the major. The curriculum includes the general education requirements, writing, college algebra, and a global or intercultural course, within a 120-credit total. The published curriculum adds up to 120 semester credit hours. Prospective students are advised to review the official Utah Valley University program page for the current course list, advising contacts, and guidance on how to sequence classes, and should speak with a department adviser before planning a schedule or declaring the major.
