PGCert in Public Health

The public health certificate gives students from any major a base of core knowledge in the discipline. It appeals to those who care about health equity and about improving wellbeing across populations. Coursework is interdisciplinary and includes hands-on methods and exposure to real public health initiatives. Required study covers epidemiology and the social, behavioral, and cultural factors that shape health, followed by a choice of electives such as biostatistics, environmental health, and health policy. Students who go on to the MPH complete a larger credit total. Those who keep a strong GPA can begin graduate-level courses earlier. The certificate also works as a stepping stone, letting students sample public health study before deciding whether to pursue the full graduate degree.
