Prof.D in Veterinary Medicine

The veterinary degree at Virginia Tech is delivered by a veterinary college that Virginia Tech operates jointly with Maryland. It aims to graduate clinicians who are ready on their first day to practice, and who keep learning throughout their careers. Instruction brings basic science and applied science together in courses organized around how the body functions rather than by discipline. Students learn in teams, and they begin clinical rotations earlier than in many programs. The program website explains the curriculum and the admissions process, and it provides pages for incoming students, current students, faculty and visiting clinical students. Entering students come to campus in August for a week of orientation, and the site lists key dates and deadlines. Faculty resources are also collected on the site.
