Prof.D in Veterinary Medicine

The Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine trains students for professional practice across many animal species. Teaching rests on comparative medicine and a One Health outlook that links animal, human and environmental health. Students may enroll under the older Legacy track or the newer curriculum. Along the way they build clinical reasoning, hands-on procedural skill and the ability to communicate with clients and colleagues. The structure leaves room for each student to deepen knowledge in a chosen area of interest, and graduates are prepared for a broad range of careers in veterinary medicine. Graduates are expected to approach cases as independent learners and problem solvers, working as technically capable clinicians who communicate with warmth and clarity. Applicants begin through an online application and can consult the separate admissions page for entry criteria.
