MA/MS in Architecture

The Master of Architecture at WashU is a first professional degree delivered by the Sam Fox School. It prepares students to work as architects in society, combining theory with practice and drawing on faculty research. Hands-on making sits at the center of teaching. Two tracks exist, depending on prior background. One begins with a series of core studios and suits students whose bachelor's degree is in another field or in architectural studies, while a shorter advanced-placement track is selective and starts at the final comprehensive core studio. Dual degree options are available for those who want a broader education. The program is accredited by the national architecture board and is designated STEM. Students can travel for study, including a full semester studio in Barcelona. Financial support listed by the school includes tuition scholarships, fellowships, paid assistantships, and loans, and graduates pursue a range of career paths.
