The Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering builds on a long record of research in injury biomechanics and close links to the automotive industry, extending into sports, ballistics and blast trauma. Students tackle health problems including long-term pain, recovery from trauma and disabilities linked to aging.
Four concentrations are offered, including imaging and instrumentation, computational and systems biology, and injury biomechanics, which can also be studied online. The degree requires thirty course credits and can include a six-credit thesis or be completed without one. Funded research is available, and the GRE is not needed for application.
Concentration areas include biomedical imaging and instrumentation and computational and systems biology, which are traditional, alongside the online injury biomechanics track. Part-time and full-time students can choose research or non-research options, and prospective students may start an application online.
