AA/AS in Chemistry

Chemistry, available as an associate of arts degree and as an associate of science degree for UC transfer. Chemistry examines matter, its composition, behavior and structure, and the reactions that explain how substances change. Many people call it the hub of the sciences since atomic study links the other disciplines. The UC transfer version provides a clear path and a guaranteed admission option to most University of California campuses when students finish the pathway, meet the campus grade point target and apply on time. Each course in the major needs a grade of C or better. Students who finish the program and meet the general education and grade point conditions can move on toward a bachelor's degree. Counselors and the Transfer Center help each student plan courses around the target university. Prospective students can review degree and certificate requirements, the program mapper and the academic catalog through the department page. Meeting with a counselor early helps build a semester plan that fits each person's schedule, goals and next step after the program.
