The Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting is an undergraduate major within the Barton School of Business. Students combine the university General Education Program with the school's shared business core and a set of advanced standing requirements before moving into accounting coursework.
The major covers intermediate financial accounting, accounting information systems, cost accounting, federal income tax, data analytics for accountants, advanced financial accounting and auditing, along with money and banking and a business writing course. An applied learning experience is required and can be met through the advanced financial accounting course, which includes a semester-long nonprofit project. The page also points students to the state accountancy board for CPA exam questions. Students finish with a mix of general education, business foundations and accounting depth, with room for open electives chosen alongside an advisor.
