Program details

Overview

The biomedical engineering bachelor's program lets students specialize in subfields ranging from instrumentation and biomaterials to imaging, orthopedic and rehabilitation engineering, and physiology. Two curriculum options exist. One is the traditional ABET-accredited degree. The other prepares students to apply to medical school or other medical and health science graduate programs. Graduates may go on to design and test devices such as artificial organs, prosthetics, implants and imaging equipment. Students can also work toward a bachelor's and master's degree in an accelerated five-year path. A department spanning biomedical, industrial and ergonomics-focused engineering offers the program. Wright State's advisors can explain how coursework in biomedical engineering is sequenced, which requirements apply, and how current students move through each stage toward completion. Interested applicants should consult the program page and the relevant admissions office for current details.
