Overview
Millar College of the Bible is a private, non-denominational Evangelical Christian Bible college, incorporated by Saskatchewan legislation in 1944 and accredited as a member of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities.
William Millar founded it in 1932, after his own conversion under D. L.
Moody's preaching in Scotland, first as Bible classes in Moose Jaw before the school moved that same year to its permanent home in Pambrun, Saskatchewan; Herbert W. Peeler joined as a teacher soon after and led the college for more than fifty years.
Pambrun remains the main campus, with satellite campuses added later in Tappen, British Columbia, and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Millar teaches biblical studies, theology, and hands-on ministry preparation, and confers its own certificates, diplomas, and degrees rather than those of a partner university. Students complete a shared core curriculum that leads, according to credits and grade average earned, to a one-year Christian Ministry Certificate, a two-year Christian Ministry Diploma, or a three-year Bachelor of Biblical Studies; graduates of the Bachelor of Biblical Studies can add a supervised ministry internship year to upgrade it to a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies.
A Master of Biblical Studies, a part-time graduate program combining short on-site modules with mentoring, was added for working ministry leaders. The college's stated vision is to develop passionate, relevant servants of Jesus Christ shaped by the whole of Scripture.
