It began in the Depression era as Two Rivers Bible Institute at the junction of the Carrot and Leather Rivers, founded by Christian laymen from Tisdale who wanted to equip young people for ministry in northeastern Saskatchewan. Repeated spring flooding forced a move in 1957 to its present 135-acre campus one mile south of town, where it was renamed Nipawin Bible Institute and later Nipawin Bible College.
The college is a member of the Saskatchewan Association of Theological Colleges and is affiliated with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, while remaining deliberately unaffiliated with any single denomination. Its curriculum centres on biblical studies, pastoral ministry, and Christian leadership, taught through classroom instruction, chapel life, and supervised ministry practicums in local churches.
The college itself confers its own certificates, diplomas, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Ministry.
Campus facilities include Snider and Baxter residence halls, a dining hall and fitness centre, the Rempel Auditorium gymnasium, the Art Linsey Education Centre, an on-campus chapel, and one of western Canada's largest solar-panel installations, all set along the Saskatchewan River.
