Overview
The Université de technologie de Troyes (UTT) is a public university in Troyes, about 90 minutes from Paris, that combines a university with the model of a grande école d'ingénieur.
Its flagship is the five-year Diplôme d'ingénieur, which includes an integrated preparatory cycle and carries CTI accreditation and the EUR-ACE label. Students choose among several engineering branches, including industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, informatics and information systems, materials, and networks and telecommunications.
UTT also awards two-year Master degrees across six tracks, one of them, Nano-Phot, taught in English, and runs its own doctoral school with roughly 180 doctoral students. Further offerings include specialised Mastère Spécialisé programmes, university diplomas, a professional licence and a Bachelor in artificial intelligence.
Roughly a quarter of the student body is international, drawn from more than 50 nationalities.
The university holds exchange agreements with close to 230 partner institutions, and a stay abroad is compulsory in the engineering cursus. Short intersemester programmes in August and January-February give international students intensive French and cultural orientation.
Credits follow the ECTS system, with 60 credits per year.
