Bachelor in Turkish Language and Literature

This bachelor course is meant for students interested in Turkish language, philology and literature. Its teaching plan was designed with reference to Turkology courses abroad and to other Turkish departments within Albania. Teaching is carried out in Turkish, apart from the subjects chosen as foreign languages. The department's goals cover the Turkish language and its literature, the instruction of foreigners in Turkish, the Ottoman language, and training scholars, teachers and professionals for translation and interpreting work. An internship is compulsory. Under Albanian Ministry of Education rules, the cycle lasts three years and carries 180 ECTS credits. Besides linguistic content, students also learn about the historical, political, religious and cultural background of different periods. Study moves beyond grammar and vocabulary to cover how the language and its writing can be analysed across those periods.
