Associate Degree in Rehabilitation Therapy Technology (Full-Time)

Barbados Community College's Associate Degree in Rehabilitation Therapy Technology is a professionally organised, two-year full-time programme built around four semesters plus an internship, for a total of 89 credits. Students build medical and paramedical knowledge through coursework spanning body structure and function, physical rehabilitation methods, speech-language work, occupational therapy, hearing science and sign language, alongside the professional skills and attitudes needed to function as a rehabilitation professional. Beyond the academic content, training builds specific patient-management techniques such as interviewing, observation and manual handling, correct use of therapeutic modalities, and sound work habits including time management, teamwork and safe practice. Graduates also work through the ethical and moral dimensions of the role, so they leave not just technically capable but prepared for the professional judgement rehabilitation work demands.
