Computer Systems Technology - Security is a third-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma at Algonquin College that lets Computer Systems Technician - Networking diploma graduates add a further year of specialization in cybersecurity. Classes are scheduled in the evening, from 4pm to 10pm Monday to Friday, alongside the standard daytime program. Coursework covers security audits, testing, and vulnerability assessments, privacy law, digital forensics, incident response, penetration testing, cryptography, and compliance, building the skills to assess, recommend, implement, and troubleshoot advanced security solutions and preparing students for related industry certifications. Current Computer Systems Technician - Networking students can apply internally, while diploma graduates from two or more years earlier apply through a separate pathway. Graduates pursue roles such as network security specialist, IT security consultant, and corporate information security manager across private, government, and law-enforcement sectors.

Admission Requirements: Entry requires successful completion of Algonquin College's Computer Systems Technician - Networking Ontario College Diploma. Current Computer Systems Technician - Networking students apply through an internal process; graduates of that diploma from two or more years ago apply instead to the Computer Systems Technology - Security Pathway (0156A).
