The diploma is aimed at non-commissioned members of the Canadian Armed Forces and others interested in military affairs, building knowledge needed to operate effectively within military or large corporate structures. Coursework spans applied communication, leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, security studies, psychology, and management principles, delivered through a partnership linking OntarioLearn, the Canadian Defence Academy, the Royal Military College, and the college. Graduates who finish successfully can receive advanced standing toward a related bachelor's degree at the Royal Military College, provided the diploma is completed within an eight-year window.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Algonquin lists an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or Mature Student status (19 or older without a diploma, subject to a fee-based academic achievement test), as recommended College Eligibility for this part-time online diploma. Program Eligibility is Grade 12 English (ENG4C or equivalent). International or non-Canadian transcripts are assessed through ICAS or WES, and the program's published English-proficiency scale is IELTS Academic overall 6.0 with no band below 5.5, OR TOEFL iBT overall 80 with a minimum of 20 per component for tests before 21 January 2026 (a rescaled overall 4 with a 4 component minimum applies to tests from that date), OR Duolingo English Test overall 110 with at least 110 in Literacy and no score below 95. The program has no fixed start-term intake table, and delivery and availability vary by individual course rather than by cohort.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for September 2027 entry the application portal opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, and offers must be accepted by 1 May 2027, while later applications are still assessed as space allows; Algonquin publishes no separate equal-consideration date for the January 2027 intake. International applicants apply directly via Algonquin's own International Application Portal, not ontariocolleges.ca; instead of one fixed date the college posts a program-by-program closing-date list shortly before each term starts - for Fall 2026 most programs closed 16 September 2026, technology programs by 9-10 September; no Winter 2027 or Fall 2027 international list has been posted yet, so admission remains effectively rolling until each list is published and fills. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
