Overview

Architectural Technology is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma delivered by the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence, extending directly from the Architectural Technician diploma into a Level 05 entry point. Students build skills to support building projects through the design and development process in architecture and construction, progressing from residential to commercial work with a focus on design and technical resolution and building and material detailing. Coursework develops skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry tools, culminating in a team-based project in the final year, with courses taught by industry-professional faculty. Optional co-op work terms let students earn between $7,000 and $10,000 per term. Graduates work with architects' offices, contractors, engineering firms, municipalities, and real estate companies, and advanced standing is available toward Algonquin's Bachelor of Science (Building Science) degree.
