Overview Play a key role in operational success - specialize in health services office administration. The two-year Office Administration - Health Services Ontario College Diploma prepares you for a rewarding career in a variety of health services office environments. This program is accredited by The Canadian College of Health Information Management. The Canadian College of Health Information Management sets accreditation standards for educational institutions and certification standards for health information professionals in Canada. Graduates of the program are eligible to write the Health Information-Certified Associate (HICA) national certification exam (NCE). Certification recognizes health data as a key factor in providing safe and quality care to people across Canada. Develop essential theoretical and applied skills for health services by engaging in extensive learning in a simulated office using an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system in a variety of specialties. Provide patient services through file and medical report management, office management, medical billing, patient management, protecting Personal Health Information (PHI) through privacy legislation, interpersonal skills through sensitivity training, medical transcription and terminology, accounting practices. You also have the opportunity to participate in a health services environment field placement allowing you to practice your skills. Upon graduation, you may find employment as a medical office assistant in various health services environments such as: physicians' offices clinics hospitals residential/long-term care facilities allied health professional offices Graduates of the one-year Office Administration - General Ontario College Certificate program may choose to enroll in this program to specialize their education.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: College Eligibility requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or Mature Student status (19 or older without a diploma, subject to a fee-based academic achievement test). Program Eligibility for this diploma is Grade 12 English (ENG4C or equivalent). International or non-Canadian transcripts are assessed through ICAS or WES, and the program's published English-proficiency scale is IELTS Academic overall 6.0 with no band below 5.5, OR TOEFL iBT overall 80 with a minimum of 20 per component for tests before 21 January 2026 (a rescaled overall 4 with a 4 component minimum applies to tests from that date), OR Duolingo English Test overall 110 with at least 110 in Literacy and no score below 95. If applications exceed seats, offers go by English proficiency.

International applicants apply directly via Algonquin's own International Application Portal, not ontariocolleges.ca; instead of one fixed date the college posts a program-by-program closing-date list shortly before each term starts - for Fall 2026 most programs closed 16 September 2026, technology programs by 9-10 September; no Winter 2027 or Fall 2027 international list has been posted yet, so admission remains effectively rolling until each list is published and fills. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
