Bachelor of Professional Arts, Criminal Justice Major

Admission Requirements: Entry to the Bachelor of Professional Arts, Criminal Justice Major is based on prior credit rather than secondary-school grades. Applicants qualify by holding a two- or three-year diploma (60-90 credits), two 30-credit certificates, or one 30-credit certificate plus 30 transferable credits, drawn from a university, college or institute of technology approved by Athabasca; by holding an undergraduate degree in an unrelated field; by presenting a minimum of 60 credits of university-level coursework; or by combining Athabasca Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) credits with university credits to reach 60 credits. Applicants with 6-59 credits may register as pre-program students while requirements are confirmed and can still take courses. All applicants must complete Athabasca's English Language Assessment (ELA) before enrolment; depending on the result, students may be directed into ENGL 155, ENGL 177 or PHIL 152 first. Those admitted via PLAR with fewer than 30 credits must also complete LGST 230 and GOVN 390. Intake is monthly.
