Overview
This multidisciplinary Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program combines psychology, sociology, and criminal law to develop expertise in understanding criminal behaviour, evaluating risk factors, and analyzing crime-control issues. Students learn to assess offenders, design intervention plans, and work with at-risk populations and crime victims. The program totals 90 credits over 3 years, with up to 45 credits of prior learning recognized, and admits 140 students per intake in the Fall term only. Some courses are offered at a distance. Admission for Quebec DEC holders requires a DEC in sciences, letters and arts; sciences humaines; sciences de la nature; or sciences informatiques et mathématiques, or any other DEC plus completion of a Méthodes quantitatives requirement; mature students must also submit a curriculum vitae and motivation letter. Applicants from outside Quebec need a secondary diploma plus one university year with a satisfactory background in statistics. Before starting a practicum placement, students must complete a criminal background disclosure and meet provincial immunization requirements.

Admission Requirements: Quebec DEC holders need a DEC in sciences, letters and arts; sciences humaines; sciences de la nature; or sciences informatiques et mathématiques, or any other DEC plus completion of the Méthodes quantitatives requirement (objective 0ME3 or 022P, or courses 360-223-RE/360-300-RE); mature students must also submit a curriculum vitae and motivation letter. Applicants from outside Quebec require a secondary diploma plus one university year with training judged satisfactory in statistics. International applicants need a 13-year pre-university diploma, or 12 years plus one year of higher education, with a statistics background. Non-francophone applicants must score at least 400/699 on the mandatory sections of the Test de connaissance du français and at least 14/20 on the written expression component. Students must submit a criminal background disclosure form before beginning a practicum placement and meet provincial immunization requirements.
