Overview
The Automotive Service Technician and Operations Diploma, non co-op option, will help you complete a two-year apprenticeship technical training program for entry into the automotive industry, find employment within the industry, or put you on the path to completing a bachelor's degree. It is for international students. You'll learn how to integrate and apply theoretical concepts to the diagnosis, service, and repair of automotive systems, as well as relevant research, communication, and business skills for the automotive industry.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: The Automotive Service Technician and Operations Diploma, Non Co-op Option is offered to international students only. Entry requires Category 3 English (English Studies 12 at 50% or equivalent, or the BCIT English Trades Entry Assessment), one Math 11 course at 50% (Pre-Calculus 11, Foundations of Math 11, Workplace Math 11, another acceptable BC/Yukon course, or the BCIT Math Trades Entry Assessment), and a pass on the BCIT Mechanical Reasoning Trades Entry Assessment. A completed Program Acknowledgement form must be submitted with the application. High school graduation is recommended by SkilledTradesBC but not required, and a valid study permit is required before starting. The credential does not meet Post-Graduation Work Permit eligibility. Applicants are accepted on a first-qualified, first-accepted basis as long as space remains.

Openings are 9:00 am and deadlines 11:59 pm Pacific Time, moving to the next business day on a weekend. Admission is not institute-wide rolling, but many programs work first-qualified-first-accepted and can fill before the posted deadline, and several programs, mostly in Health Sciences, trades and graduate studies, run entirely separate application tables of their own. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
