Admission Requirements: Admission sits in BCIT's Category 2 English band, met by English Studies 12 at 67% or equivalent, or by Category 2 international scores (IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band under 5.5, TOEFL iBT 86 with no section under 20, PTE Academic 60 with no skill under 60, or Duolingo 120 with no integrated subscore under 95) per BCIT's institution-wide English Language Proficiency page. The program also requires one of Pre-Calculus 11 at 67%, Foundations of Mathematics 11 at 67%, or another acceptable BC/Yukon-equivalent math course. Applicants who meet all entrance requirements are accepted on a first-qualified basis as long as space remains in the intake; meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a seat. While not mandatory, BCIT recommends applicants with a weaker math background complete OPMT 0199 or OPMT 0023 first, since the program page states that strong mathematical skills are required for success. Applications are processed on a rolling basis and an intake can fill before its published deadline.
