Criminal Justice Diploma is a diploma in Criminal Law & Justice programme offered by Camosun College in Victoria, Canada. The programme runs for 2 years, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 35,136 per total (CAD 8,300 per total for local students).
A social justice lens frames the study of criminal justice systems and processes, forming the ground for responsible, ethical and professional conduct within the field. Classroom and community learning experiences sit alongside theoretical frameworks, covering how police, courts, corrections and social service agencies work together, the intergenerational trauma colonization has caused Indigenous Peoples, and a critical, social justice approach to present-day challenges. The diploma can lead into entry-level roles in correctional services, customs or services to young offenders, and completed courses may transfer into year three of a bachelor's degree.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: The academic requirement is a single English course: English 12 at C+ or the Camosun English 12 alternative at C. A criminal record check is required for this programme. Camosun also flags that some programme courses carry a mathematics prerequisite (MATH 075 or equivalent) which must be finished before you enrol in them, so it is worth clearing the maths before you start rather than after. Where the requirement names a secondary-school course, Camosun accepts its own equivalent upgrading course instead, and a C in that Camosun course covers a C+ requirement in an English 12 prerequisite. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS must clear Camosun's general college English standard on top of anything listed here — IELTS Academic 6.0 with no sub-score under 6.0, TOEFL iBT 78 with no sub-score under 19, PTE Academic 54 with no sub-score under 50, Cambridge C1 Advanced 174 with no sub-score under 169, or CAEL CE 60 with no component under 60, taken within the past two years — because the college states that its general standard applies even where a programme page shows a lower one.
Application Details
Start Date:One start a year, in September (Fall term). Limited (seated) enrolment: the cohort is capped and a waitlist is normally opened once qualified applicants outnumber seats.
Application Deadline:Limited-enrolment (seated) programme: Camosun publishes an opening date but no closing date, and applications can be shut at any point once the waitlist outgrows the seats on offer. DOMESTIC APPLICANTS: the Fall 2027 (September) application window opens 1 October 2026. Offers are issued first-qualified, first-served — for September-start seated programmes they begin going out in February — so apply as early as you can and check Camosun's Program Availability page for the live status before you apply. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS have a separate deadline of 1 June for the September (Fall) start. It holds only while seats remain, so a popular intake can close sooner; a later application may still be looked at if seats are open and there is time to obtain a study permit. Seats in a capped programme often go before that date, so contact International Admissions to confirm one is free. Domestic and international applicants both apply online through EducationPlannerBC (apply.educationplannerbc.ca/camosun).
