Overview
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Bridge to the University of Victoria (UVic) Advanced Diploma is offered by Camosun College with co-operation of UVic. Students with an approved diploma in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, can take this program to upgrade their mathematics, sciences, and related engineering knowledge in preparation for entering the third year of Engineering at UVic. The Electrical and Computer Engineering Bridge to UVic program is offered in the Winter and Fall semesters for entry into the third year of Engineering at UVic in January. An Internship work term is optional for this program.

Admission Requirements: This advanced diploma bridges graduates into third-year Engineering at UVic, so entry runs on a diploma, not a Grade 12, base. Applicants need a Diploma in Electrical or Computer Engineering Technology, TAC-accredited, completed within the last five years with a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 (B) and no individual course grade below C; diplomas completed more than five years ago are accepted at the same GPA if paired with a Letter of Intent covering work experience or professional development since graduation, and diplomas in another closely related discipline are accepted if approved by the Engineering Bridge Coordinator. No IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo or CAEL score is published. One official copy each of high school and all post-secondary transcripts must be submitted regardless of relevance to engineering; Camosun graduates are exempted from resubmitting their own transcripts, and in-progress transcripts are accepted where final diploma courses are still under way.

Camosun's competitive-entry table gives the recurring window as 15 January to 1 June with all documents in by 15 June. The most recently published cycle, for the Winter 2027 intake, ran 15 January to 1 June 2026 with documents due 15 June 2026, so applications for a January start close in the June roughly seven months beforehand — check the programme page for the exact dates of your intake. Applicants are ranked on the GPA of their technology diploma at a joint meeting between Camosun and the receiving university, and the university makes the final call. Camosun's international deadline page states that the eight-month engineering bridge programmes each set their own dates rather than following the general international deadlines, so international applicants should work from the programme page and confirm with International Admissions.
