Camosun College offers Trades - Apprenticeship in Welder A and Welder B, a trades - apprenticeship in Trades programme in Victoria, Canada. The programme runs for 16 weeks, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition is CAD 1,000 per total for local students.
This program covers the Welder Modular A and Modular B training offered at Camosun's Interurban campus for people who have already completed the Welder Foundation program or hold Welder Level C certification and want to advance further in the welding trade. Modular A runs approximately eight weeks and Modular B approximately sixteen weeks, delivered as in-school technical training rather than a foundation-level program. Program outlines for these modules are set by SkilledTradesBC. Camosun also offers related welder upgrading and testing alongside these modules. Because it builds on prior foundation training or an existing Level C ticket, this pathway suits welders who already have entry-level qualifications and want to progress their technical training toward higher welding levels, rather than someone new to the trade seeking a first introduction to welding.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Welder A and Welder B at Camosun are SkilledTradesBC sponsored apprenticeships, and the programme page sets no separate academic grade, English-language, or portfolio requirement of its own. To apply, an applicant needs a registered employer who will sponsor and train them and a valid SkilledTradesBC registration number; the apprentice must be sponsored by an employer who is itself registered with SkilledTradesBC, and either party can contact SkilledTradesBC to register the apprenticeship contract. The Camosun page does not reproduce SkilledTradesBC's own trade-entry criteria and instead links out to SkilledTradesBC's program outline for these welder levels. Enquiries about a specific technical-training intake are directed to the Trades office at 250-370-3550.
