Overview
The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program – in partnership with the School of Business – offers the Business Administration Pathway for domestic and international students. The Pathway allows you to begin getting credit for a business credential while you improve your English. Upon successful completion of the two-semester Pathway Program, students earn 15 credits towards their business credential.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry to this English-for-Academic-Purposes pathway into Business Administration requires B.C. secondary school graduation (or equivalent) together with one of: Principles of Mathematics 11 at C, Foundations of Mathematics 11 at C, Applications of Mathematics 12 at B, Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics 12 at B, or BTEC 115 at B-. Because the pathway combines academic English study with first-year coursework, Capilano University sets a reduced English proficiency bar for entry: TOEFL paper-based 520 / internet-based 67, IELTS Academic 5.5 overall with no band below 5.0, CAEL 50, PTE Academic 50, Capilano's own EAP 080 course completed at a minimum B grade, or completion of the equivalent level through an approved Pathway Partner institution. Grade 12 students still finishing secondary school may be granted conditional admission on their final Grade 11 or interim Grade 12 marks, with final admission depending on graduation and on release of B.C. Ministry of Education transcripts to the university.

Application Deadline:Domestic and international applicants both apply through EducationPlannerBC: the domestic application fee is $50 CAD and the international fee is $135 CAD, each covering up to two programmes. Capilano University publishes no university-wide application-opening or closing date for either group for the 2026-27 cycle; its how-to-apply pages instruct applicants to check the application and document deadlines on their chosen programme's own page, since every programme sets its own intake window there. Admission is effectively rolling at the institution level, governed programme by programme, with some programmes (for example the Health Care Assistant Certificate) publishing a fixed intake window that opens and closes months ahead of the start date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
