This Attestation d'études collégiales (AEC) in Techniques d'éducation spécialisée trains specialized educators to work with people across the lifespan who require intervention support. The 2,085-hour program, delivered over 22 months, covers human development, communication and teamwork, the clinical intervention process, prevention and intervention techniques, mental health, youth, intellectual and physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, aging, helping relationships, violence and social exclusion, addiction, language stimulation, facilitating clinical activities, and crisis intervention. Classes are delivered in a hybrid, synchronous format, split roughly evenly between online and in-person days. Admission requires a passing grade in the Secondary 5 French course and successful completion of a selection process. The next cohort begins August 19, 2026. Graduates are prepared to work as specialized educators supporting clients in areas such as mental health, disability, youth protection, addiction, and crisis situations. The program code is JNC.29.
