Techniques d'intervention en criminologie (310.B1) is a three-year Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) delivered on campus at the Carleton-sur-Mer campus of Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles. The programme trains students to intervene with people who are in conflict with the law or facing behavioural and social adaptation difficulties, combining classroom learning with role-plays, simulations, and case studies. A distinguishing feature is its workplace-learning model, unique in Quebec, under which close to half of the training takes place directly in professional settings rather than in the classroom. Graduates work in correctional services, youth protection, community organizations, and related intervention settings. Admission requires a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) or a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP), with completed Secondary 5 language of instruction, Secondary 5 second language, and Secondary 4 mathematics courses.
