Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology: Automation and Control

Technologie du génie électrique : automatisation et contrôle (243.D0) is a three-year Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) delivered on campus at the Gaspé campus of Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles. The programme covers industrial automation, control systems, and renewable-energy technologies, training students to configure and program industrial robots, programmable logic controllers, and measurement and control systems within Industry 4.0 environments. Instruction runs full-time over six sessions, with weekly course loads of 28 to 35 hours, and includes mandatory work-integrated learning through alternating study-and-work internships. Graduates work as electrical engineering technologists in automation, process control, and industrial maintenance roles. Admission requires a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) or a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP), with completed Secondary 5 language of instruction, Secondary 5 second language, and Secondary 4 mathematics, plus the specific requirements of Mathématiques Technico-sciences or Sciences naturelles (Secondary 4) and Science et technologie de l'environnement (Secondary 4).
