Audioprothèse is a three-year, six-session technical DEC offered at the La Pocatière campus with open, non-competitive admission, available as program 160.B0 for regular entrants or 160.B1 for students who already hold an audiology qualification. It trains students to analyze the needs of people with hearing loss and propose technological solutions, primarily hearing aids and related devices. Coursework covers the anatomy and physiology of the auditory system, hearing aid technology including selection, verification, adjustment, and repair, audiometry across three dedicated courses, acoustics and psychoacoustics, clinical rehabilitation and patient counselling, and professional ethics and business management, alongside general education in French, philosophy, English, and physical education. Students have extended access to specialized laboratories and to an on-campus clinic-school that sees real patients, followed by a pre-internship clinical practicum in the fifth session and a full-time integration internship in external clinics during the sixth session. Admission requires Secondary 5 Mathematics (Technico-sciences or Sciences naturelles sequence) and Secondary 5 Physics, and the program notes that a significant amount of required reading is in English.
