Offered by Collège de Rosemont in Montréal, Canada, Diploma in Audioprothèse is a diploma in Speech & Language Therapy programme. The programme runs for 3 years. Teaching is in French. Tuition for international students is CAD 23,480 per year (CAD 3,740 per year for local students).
Audioprothèse is a three-year technical DEC at Collège de Rosemont, the only program of its kind on the island of Montreal, preparing students to help people of all ages manage hearing loss and regain the ability to communicate, work, and socialize. The curriculum covers hearing evaluation and correction, hearing rehabilitation, and management of an audioprosthetist's office, combining scientific, technological, and clinical dimensions. Under Quebec's Loi sur les audioprothésistes, graduates gain the exclusive right to sell, fit, adjust, and replace hearing aids on referral from a physician, speech-language pathologist, or audiologist. Students train on professional-grade equipment such as audiometric test heads and digital scanners, practise at the college's on-site health teaching clinic, take part in employer events and hearing-screening activities, and produce custom earmoulds for real clients. Clinical placements (stages) in professional settings begin in the second session. Admission requires a secondary diploma with mathematics and physics prerequisites, and graduates must join the Ordre des audioprothésistes du Québec to practise, working exclusively in private clinics or through home and institutional visits. It suits students interested in a clinical, technical health career centred on hearing care.
