Diploma in Photography Technology

This CEGEP technical programme (570.F0) at Cegep de Matane trains photographers and videographers in image capture and image processing technique. Students shoot both in a studio and on location, working with a range of cameras and lighting systems, and edit and retouch their photographs using industry-recognized software. The curriculum combines hands-on studio and location shoots with post-production coursework across the programme's six sessions of full-time study, corresponding to three years, and leads to a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC); the curriculum also includes a common-core English course (604-COM-R4, Session 1) alongside the photography-specific coursework, as with the province's required general-education component for technical DEC programmes. Admission requires a Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES) and satisfaction of the college's general CEGEP admission conditions.
