Overview
This technical Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) in Digital Creation, with a focus on multimedia integration, at Cégep de Matane spans three years and six semesters and covers web development, graphic design, video production, animation, sound design, and programming. Students learn to manage multimedia projects from concept through completion, including interactive web experiences, visual-interface and user-experience design, scripting and editing for video, two- and three-dimensional animation, audio production, and project management and quality control across multiple programming languages. Each year includes a dedicated multimedia-projects course, and the program concludes with a mandatory ten-week internship in the final semester; optional paid work-study placements and the possibility of completing part of the program in France are also available. The program suits students interested in combining creative and technical work across web, video, and design media. Graduates typically work as web developers, designers, graphic designers, multimedia programmers, project managers, or content creators for production companies, advertising agencies, web firms, and corporate communications departments.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Creation numerique (Integration multimedia) follows Cegep de Matane's general collegial admission conditions (a Quebec DES, an equivalent DEP with the required French, English and mathematics units, or equivalent training/experience), with no additional prerequisite course listed for this program. Since 2025 a streamlined pathway lets holders of a DEP in Infographie who meet the general college admission conditions enter with three fewer college-level courses. International applicants qualify with a recognised eleventh-year credential, such as a completed Premiere in France; students enrolled in a Bac Pro, BTS or BUT digital-creation program at a partner French institution may be eligible for a mobility placement or joint-diploma project. No minimum grade or average, English- or French-language test score, portfolio, or interview is stated for this program.
