Program details
Overview
Techniques d'administration et de gestion – comptabilite et finance (410.G0) is a three-year technical DEC at Cegep de Trois-Rivieres, updated in Fall 2025 from the former DEC en comptabilite et gestion. Students gain an overview of the operations needed to run a business, then specialize in accounting and finance: using accounting software, preparing and analysing financial statements, building budgets, and planning, organizing, directing and controlling accounting systems, including a certification engagement. The program develops responsibility, collaboration, analytical and decision-making skills through a multidisciplinary approach covering the accounting, financial, administrative, human-resources and marketing sides of a business. Practical components include conferences, observation placements, mandates with real companies, an income-tax clinic, an audit simulation, and a full-time internship in the sixth semester, with a paid work-study option also available. Graduates can pursue roles such as manager, accounting technician or clerk, or business owner, and a DEC-Bac pathway leads to a Bachelor's in Accounting Sciences at UQTR in a fourth year. The program suits students drawn to numbers, business operations and client-facing accounting work.
