Overview
Architectural Technology (Technologie de l'architecture) is a technical Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC), program code 221.A0, delivered by Cégep de Victoriaville over six sessions (three years) of full-time, campus-based study, roughly 27 to 32 hours per week. Students learn to produce architectural plans, drawings, and presentations using specialized design software for residential, commercial, and institutional projects as well as building renovations, alongside coursework in materials selection, building codes, structural calculations, mechanical systems, and project management, including site inspection. The curriculum includes CAD/DAO courses, wood, steel, and concrete structural design, sustainable development, and a capstone project, together with general education courses in French, English, philosophy, and physical education. A mandatory five-week internship takes place in the final session, and two optional paid work-study placements are also available. Admission requires secondary-level mathematics (Technical and Scientific or Science, Natural sequence, fourth year) and secondary-level science and technology or its applied equivalent. Admission Requirements: Admission to Technologie de l'architecture requires Mathématiques TS ou SN and Science et technologie (or Applications technologiques et scientifiques), both from Secondary 4, plus the Cégep's general admission conditions. Those conditions call for a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) from the youth or adult sector, or a vocational diploma (DEP) supplemented by fifth-secondary language of instruction, fifth-secondary second language and fourth-secondary mathematics; levelling courses may be required for older diplomas, and applicants short by up to six DES units can be admitted conditionally if they complete them in their first semester. Instruction is French-medium and no separate English-language test score is published. Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through SRACQ (sracq.qc.ca): for the Fall 2027 (August) intake three admission rounds close 1 March, 1 May and 1 June 2027, and for Winter 2027 (January) entry rounds close 1 November, 1 December 2026 and 2 January 2027, each later round admitting only while seats remain. The Cegep does not publish a fixed international application deadline; international applicants follow a separate admission process and must hold a valid CAQ and study permit by the start of August for Fall entry, so early application is recommended.
