Program details

Overview

This postgraduate certificate offers an applied, learner-centred curriculum to develop the skills needed to manage programmes and resources that preserve and present cultural and natural heritage. Coursework covers museum administration and industry-based subjects, examining present-day issues and case studies from Canada and overseas, with theory applied to current workplace realities through assignments and placements linked to the museum sector. Field placement supervisors and guest lecturers come from the profession itself. Training includes a fourteen-week full-time field placement, and the programme takes a practical, hands-on and entrepreneurial approach to prepare graduates for heritage-sector careers.
