This program leads to a DEC in Police Technology at Collège d'Alma, completed over three years across six semesters, preparing students for the mandatory training program at the École nationale de police du Québec that must be completed before becoming an officer. Admission Requirements: Beyond Collège d'Alma's general admission conditions (a Secondary School Diploma, or a Diploma of Vocational Studies plus specified Secondary 5 and Secondary 4 courses, or equivalent training and experience), this program requires Secondary 4 Mathematics in the Culture, société et technique sequence. Admission is competitive: candidates are pre-selected on their academic record, then called for psychometric testing and a physical fitness evaluation with published minimum standards, including the Léger-Boucher shuttle run (10 or more stages for men, 7 or more for women), 84 sit-ups in one minute, push-ups (38 for men on their feet, 32 for women on their knees), and a vertical jump of 64 cm for men and 50 cm for women. Certain restrictions apply to applicants with a criminal record, and the program strongly recommends holding a valid driver's licence and meeting the medical employment standards of the École nationale de police du Québec. No English or French language-proficiency test score is published as a requirement.
