Overview
Gestion et technologies d'entreprise agricole (GTEA) is a technical program, leading to a Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC), that Collège Lionel-Groulx has offered for close to two decades. It targets students who enjoy outdoor and hands-on work with plants and animals and who are considering starting or taking over an agricultural business. The program page describes course content covering the operations of farm and agri-food enterprises: production, financial and personnel management, animal and plant production management, new approaches to marketing agricultural output, and responses to challenges facing Quebec agriculture such as adapting to new technologies, environmental protection, and improving farm profitability. Program-specific courses are delivered across three sites — the college's Sainte-Thérèse campus, Saint-Eustache, and a greenhouse complex and school farm in Mirabel — while general-education courses remain at the main campus, so students must be able to travel between locations for classes, work placements, and learning activities. A class 5 driver's licence road test pass, or a class 8 tractor-driving permit, is required before starting the program. There is no admission quota. The DEC gives access to several university programs, among them agronomy, agri-environmental engineering, and animal-production certificates, and prepares graduates for management roles in animal or plant production and agri-tourism.

Admission Requirements: The program page defers to the college's general admission conditions: candidates qualify with a DES, a DEP plus Secondary 5 language of instruction, Secondary 5 second language and Secondary 4 mathematics, or training and experience the college judges sufficient, and must show adequate spoken and written French, with anyone lacking a francophone-sector DES required to pass the Bright test at a minimum of 3.7 in the written part, the oral part, and overall. Applicants who completed the DEP in Production animale (5354) or Production horticole (5348) may receive course credit. Before starting, students must pass the practical Class 5 driver's-licence exam or hold a Class 8 "tractor operation" licence, and must acquire specialised safety equipment (steel-toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, field clothing). The program runs across the Sainte-Therese, Saint-Eustache and Mirabel sites and admits in the fall. Applications are submitted through SRAM.

Collège Lionel-Groulx does not publish a dedicated international-admissions page of its own; international applicants would follow SRAM's system-wide window, published as 15 March 2026 to 14 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, though the college has not confirmed this itself. Admission proceeds round by round on a rolling basis after each equal-consideration date until seats are filled. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
