The Associate of Arts Degree provides a starting point for your further education and opens up education and career opportunities. The Associate of Arts Degree allows you to explore a wide range of courses to discover your specific areas of interest. COTR has numerous transfer and dual admission agreements make it easy to start your education at the College before moving on to complete a credential elsewhere.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: The Associate of Arts (General) degree requires a minimum grade of C+ (65%) in one of English Studies 12, English First Peoples 12, or Provincial English (Literature-based). All Mathematics and Statistics courses taken within the program require their own prerequisites, listed against each course in the academic calendar. The calendar entry states no programme-specific language-test score; applicants whose first language is not English must instead meet College of the Rockies' general English proficiency requirement on the institution's language-requirements page: TOEFL iBT overall 80, IELTS Academic overall 6.0 (no band below 6.0), CAEL-CE overall 60, or PTE Academic overall 56, or an equivalent English 12 course combined with the required years of English-medium instruction.

Start Date: September and January

Application Deadline: Domestic and international applicants to College of the Rockies both apply through EducationPlannerBC. For the 2027-28 academic year the general application window opens 1 November 2026, and applications received by 28 February 2027 get priority processing for Fall 2027 entry; admission is otherwise rolling with no fixed closing date. International applicants get a decision about two weeks after a complete application, with no separate published international deadline. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is competitive-entry: its window runs 1 November 2026 to 15 February 2027, with final transcripts due 28 February 2027 for Fall 2027 admission. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
