Overview
In this two-year diploma program, students develop their technical, communication, and interpersonal skills. With a wide variety of hands-on practical experience built into the program and emphasis on critical thinking, ethical decision-making and problem-solving skills, graduates are fully trained to meet the demands of today's complex office environment. In their final term, students will have the opportunity to showcase their skills by participating in a 90-hour field placement position in a local business.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or mature student status for applicants 19 years of age or older, with Grade 12 compulsory English at the C (minimum 60%) or U (minimum 50%) level, or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications (COMM1251) at a minimum of 60%. Applicants whose prior instruction was not in English must demonstrate proficiency per Conestoga's published requirements, which for diploma programs is IELTS Academic 6.0 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 with no skill below 20, PTE Academic 53, or Duolingo 110. Canadian citizens and permanent residents with international transcripts require a course-by-course credential evaluation from an approved provider such as ICAS or WES. The program expects strong computer aptitude and written and verbal communication skills sufficient to meet business documentation deadlines.
