Overview

Delivered part-time and online, this program builds the knowledge and skills needed for an intermediate-level accounting role, along with the groundwork for later advancement into managerial positions. Students apply computer, communication and mathematical skills together with management accounting techniques to support activities such as maintaining accounting records and preparing financial statements and individual or corporate tax returns. More advanced work covers working with financial analysis, planning and control principles, applying evaluation and analytical skills to support management functions, and collaborating on how an organization's system of internal control is designed.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or mature-student status at 19 years of age or older. The programme's own English requirement is met by Grade 12 compulsory English at a C (minimum 60%) or U (minimum 50%) level, or equivalent, or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications (COMM1251) at a minimum of 60%; its Mathematics requirement is met by Grade 12 Mathematics at a C (minimum 60%) or U (minimum 50%) level, or Conestoga's Preparatory Mathematics (MATH1375) at a minimum of 60%. Conestoga directs applicants needing foundational coursework to its Academic Upgrading pathway. No standardized English test score, such as IELTS or TOEFL, is published on this continuing-education admission page.

Application Details

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
