Overview
This intensive program will be of interest to college or university graduates who wish to pursue a career as a software developer or analyst, or to use those skills to complement career skills they already possess. The program provides students with a broad business and technical background in web, mobile and database application development, as well as systems analysis and design. This program provides the student with programming experience and the skills necessary to analyze and design information technology (IT)-based solutions for business and consumer applications. In the Computer Applications Development program, students benefit from specialized courses taught by highly qualified industry experts.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to this Ontario College Graduate Certificate normally requires a three-year advanced diploma or degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience in a business setting, with an overall average grade of B or above (assessed to Ontario standards). Applicants who do not meet the post-secondary requirement but have three to five years of professional or management experience in a business environment are considered case by case; they must provide references and a portfolio of their work and are subject to an interview. As a graduate certificate, the program carries Conestoga's higher English-language band, applied where transcripts are not in English: IELTS Academic overall band 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no skill below 22, PTE Academic 58, or CAEL 70 overall with no sub-test below 60. Canadian applicants with foreign transcripts require assessment by ICAS or WES.
