Overview
This program is aligned with the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) competency framework and meets the academic requirements for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designations. You'll gain expertise in recruitment, employee relations, compensation, training and development, and employment law, while developing strategic thinking and leadership skills. An optional co-op stream is available for eligible students, offering one work term to gain real-world HR experience.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a two- or three-year diploma or a degree from an accredited college or university. The program page does not itself state a language-test score, deferring to Conestoga's institution-wide English Language Proficiency Requirement, which for graduate certificates sets IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0), TOEFL iBT 88 (no skill below 22), PTE Academic 58, or Duolingo 120. Canadian citizens and permanent residents holding non-Canadian transcripts must obtain a course-by-course credential evaluation from an approved service such as ICAS or WES. Final selection is made following a review of the applicant's post-secondary background. Because the program is delivered online, applicants are expected to be self-directed learners with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and a Windows environment; familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets is highly recommended.
