Overview
Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) is a one-year (two-term) Ontario Graduate Certificate delivered in hybrid format at Conestoga's Kitchener - Doon campus, designed for diploma and degree graduates ready to specialize in infection prevention, outbreak management and health-system preparedness. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold an Ontario College Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree, or equivalent in biological sciences, biotechnology, nursing, or another health-related program. The program page does not itself quote a language-test score, instead deferring to Conestoga's institution-wide English Language Proficiency Requirement, which for graduate certificates sets IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0), TOEFL iBT 88 (no skill below 22), PTE Academic 58, or Duolingo 120. Canadian citizens and permanent residents with non-Canadian transcripts must obtain a course-by-course credential evaluation from an approved service such as ICAS or WES. Applicants may qualify for advanced entry or course exemptions based on relevant prior post-secondary education, though no portfolio or interview is required.

Start Date:Intake months: May and September. Start dates listed by Conestoga on 6 September 2026, for domestic and international applicants alike: September 2026 and May 2027 at Kitchener – Doon. An individual campus intake may already be closed.
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
