Overview
Conestoga's Animation diploma is a two-year, hybrid-delivery Ontario College Diploma at the Kitchener - Doon campus focused on 2D digital animation. Students move from foundational figure drawing, character design, storyboarding and visual storytelling into digital painting, character rigging and advanced animation techniques, finishing with a capstone project and a professional portfolio aimed at roles in film, television, gaming and online media. Graduates can continue into Conestoga's Bachelor of Animation degree through advanced standing.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or age 19 or older with mature student status. The English requirement is Grade 12 compulsory English at the C (65%) or U (55%) level, or equivalent, or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications (COMM1251). Academic strength is calculated by averaging the marks of required subjects, with ten bonus points added for Advanced level, OAC, U, U/C or post-secondary courses. Applicants with transcripts from outside Canada require a course-by-course credential evaluation, and those whose prior instruction was not in English must demonstrate proficiency, though no specific IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or similar score table is published on this programme's page. No portfolio is required for admission to this diploma.
